    Picking the right employees

    Before starting to manage the employees on the booth, you need to determine whether the right person is selected.

    The selection of personnel is mainly based on the following aspects: exhibition-related knowledge, technical product knowledge, overall experience and company-related knowledge.

    And character, positive attitude, and absolute passion for working at the show are especially critical, sometimes more important than experience.

    Have a face-to-face and online training session with employees before screening to select the final staff.

    Divide and conquer

    Basically no one wants to work directly for a week. If you take a team of employees to the booth, you can't guarantee that everyone is like the one mentioned above, and always keep a positive attitude.

    Therefore, at this time, the workload needs to be subdivided into large pieces for easy management, and employees must take turns to work on the booth.

    For example, an employee starts work two days before the start of the work, and then another employee arrives late on the second day of the exhibition, but it is necessary to make a schedule for all employees.

    It is also a good idea to have a short regular meeting each morning during the exhibition to ensure that all employees at the exhibition site can prepare for the day ahead.

    Set up an employee tracking system at the booth

    Although the staff at the booth reception desk has received good training, visitors who are in consultation can be brought to the corresponding staff at the booth. But what if that employee isn't or chatting with other customers?

    In this way, you can set up a software on the booth, where employees can update their status there, and there are some options "Meeting with customers", "Out for lunch", "Conduct internal meetings" and so on; At the time, they can show the time period they are absent on this machine.

    Putting this machine at the reception staff, if interested visitors come to the booth, they can communicate with the booth employees who have time now (approximate positions and skills).

    This minimizes the waiting time for visitors on the stand.

    If you are a small booth, you can use a cheap and similar system instead, even a whiteboard or handwritten note can record the status of these employees, track the position of each person and pass relevant information to the audience.

    Don't always be serious, fun and sometimes more important

    Try to put your pre-show training sessions in a more interesting place every day. Sometimes switching scenes is also a relief for employees.

    The content of the meeting can also range from various Youtube videos (sales processes or teaching various languages) that can master various knowledge to interesting PPT displays (the photos of employees working at the exhibition site the previous day).

    This ensures that every employee is in a relaxed state before the start of each day.

    Develop team spirit

    At the exhibition, employees have to work face to face every day. Therefore, it is necessary to cultivate the team awareness of employees. This is what the managers on the booth should do.

    Here are a few cheap ways to play around that will help all (even international employees) become familiar with each other and create a sense of collectiveness.

    Organize some competitive mini-games during non-show breaks, and set the final bonus, so that employees can be conscious of the team and communicate before, during and after each day.

    In addition, some party and dinner events can be organized before and after the event.

    The above activities generally do not take too long and too much energy, nor will it cost more than any employee Thanksgiving dinner. But the reward is cohesive staff and improved teamwork. After these activities, employees only need to spend a little time to change the work status, so that they work better.

    Establish a reward and punishment system

    Although a selection of employees has been conducted before the launch, in order to continue to motivate employees, the reward and punishment system is still indispensable. It is important to obey those who violate the rules.

    Based on sales, service, and expectations at the show, employees can be rewarded daily during the show: best sales, best non-sale employees, and best progressive employees. Of course, employees who get rewards will also have prizes.

    However, for employees who perform poorly, for example, those who make mistakes less than 3 times are just verbal criticism; if more than 3 times, they must be criticized at the morning regular meeting every morning.

    If an act is not promoted, public criticism is a better way. If the behavior has touched company policy, then a reward and punishment system must be established. In addition, if there are employees with extremely bad behavior, they also need to have their own Plan B. Employees who perform well and perform poorly at the show must let their immediate supervisors know about the situation.

    Mobilize everyone in the company

    Capable companies can conduct live broadcasts of booth preparations before the show, or create a website with the latest news and photos of the company's exhibition.

    If possible, you can mobilize everyone in your company to participate in the preparations before the show. In this way, they will naturally eliminate the idea that they are only spending money on sightseeing, and at the same time, they can instill greater sense of responsibility to the exhibiting employees, because the rest of the company's colleagues are paying serious attention to the company's participation in the process.
